Easter Basket Rice Krispie Treats

Easter Rice Krispie Treats

Jump to Recipe

Here is a super easy and cute treat to make with the kids for Easter! Or it would be fun and festive to take to an Easter celebration too! Nothing earth shattering here, but these are cute and easy so I wanted to make them. Are they Easter baskets or bird nests? I am not totally sure, but they are cute! You can make these just like you make normal Rice Krispie treats or you can make them with added protein. There are notes in the recipe that talk about how to do that. Definitely not necessary though! I used Reese’s eggs, but Cadbury Mini Eggs would be great or whatever you find. Even jelly beans

Here is what you will need:

  • Rice Krispies Cereal
  • Marshmallows
  • Butter
  • Easter Egg Candy
  • Vanilla Protein Powder (Optional)

These require no baking and come together in just minutes. I actually make mine in the microwave, but you can make yours on the stove too if you prefer. To make things easier, I use a spoon to press the Rice Krispie mixture into the muffin tin. I spray the back of the spoon with olive oil spray and it works really well to keep it from sticking.

Difficulty: Easy

Prep time

minutes

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal

  • 1 bag mini marshmallows

  • 3 tbsp butter

  • Egg Candy ( I used Reese’s Eggs)

Directions

  • Melt butter and marshmallows in microwave for 1 minute. Remove and stir until marshmallows are smooth and combined with the butter.
  • Add Rice Krispies and stir until combined.
  • Spray a regular sized muffin tin with olive oil spray.
  • Press about a 1/3 cup of the Rice Krispie mixture into the muffin tin, leaving a depression in the middle for the eggs. I sprayed the back of a spoon with olive oil and used that to press into a shape.
  • Top with candy eggs and allow to sit for 30 minutes to an hour. Remove and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can add 2 scoops of protein powder to the mixture for added protein! Add during the stirring of the marshmallows and butter before you add the Rice Krispies.
