I can’t remember the last time I bought taco seasoning. Every since I started making my own, I can’t seem to buy the store bought stuff. I love the fact that you can customize it to your liking. Here, I reduced the sodium to make it much better than the packs you find at the store. You can also adjust the spice level to your liking. When I make a big batch of this seasoning, I like to leave the red pepper flakes out so that our kids can eat it too. I find the black pepper give it enough ‘kick’ for our taste, but still makes it great for little taste buds too.
You can store this taco seasoning in a small glass mason jar, a plastic airtight container, or a recycled spice jar! I like to multiply this recipe by 4 so I always have some on hand to use. We use this in our tacos, stuffed peppers, quesadillas, etc. It is so versatile. You can use this with ground beef, turkey, or chicken. (even bison!) Or even on grilled chicken. This is even great on fish! The sky is the limit.
